Shopping in the province of Malaga
Who doesn’t love a spot of shopping? If you love going shopping and are thinking of visiting Málaga, or if you live there, this post is for you. Málaga is one of the cities with the most shopping centres in Spain and is home to the world’s top brands.
Whilst it’s true that online shopping is very much in vogue at the moment, true shopping enthusiasts know that it’s not the same as doing it in person. Yes, it’s very convenient to order from Zara or Amazon whilst having a coffee on the sofa at home, but it’s nothing like being able to try the clothes on yourself, feel the products and check the measurements in person. Everything looks lovely online and the clothes seem to suit everyone, but then come the regrets when those Shein trousers arrive and they’re too big. So let’s not lose sight of the good old ways – come along with us for a day’s shopping in the province of Málaga.
The lovely thing about Málaga is that the shops are interspersed with restaurants and monuments. You can go shopping on Calle Larios, have some tapas of Iberian ham and melon at the Pez Wanda restaurant, pop round to the Thyssen Museum and then get back to chasing the latest trends.

Shopping centres in Málaga
In the capital itself, there are already several shopping centres. As well as shopping, these centres offer a whole host of activities, such as cinemas, play areas, outdoor terraces, restaurants, go-karting, and so on. So a day’s shopping can also turn into a family day out or a get-together with friends.
If you’re looking for somewhere where, as well as shopping, you can have a great time with your loved ones, the Miramar shopping centre in Fuengirola is the place for you. It has a wide range of shops, a cinema, and on the terrace there’s also a play area with trampolines, go-karting and activities where the kids will have a brilliant time. The shops you’ll find here include Zara, Bershka, Pull and Beard, Stradivarius, Primark, Carrefour, and more…
On the other hand, if you’re looking for more exclusive shops, you should head to La Cañada Shopping in Marbella. This shopping centre is home to the very best brands, such as GUESS, Apple, Massimo Dutti, MAC and Lacoste… Shopping at La Cañada is like shopping on Fifth Avenue, but with a ‘Marbella lady’ twist.
If you’re in Málaga and don’t feel like travelling anywhere, don’t worry! We’ve got a solution for everything. Right here in the city, you’ve got the Larios, Vialia and Muelle Uno shopping centres. These three are very similar to the Miramar in Fuengirola – in other words, the shops are very similar, but they don’t have as many activities as the one in Fuengirola. Oh! By the way, if you decide to go to Muelle Uno, you mustn’t miss the Cambara Restaurant and try our delicious rice dishes and paellas.
Shops in Málaga
Shopping centres can be stressful and aren’t for everyone, but that’s fine – you can also go shopping on the streets of Málaga, where you’ll discover local shops you won’t find in a shopping centre.
The best place to go shopping outdoors is undoubtedly the famous Marqués de Larios Street. On this street there are countless shops of all kinds, from second-hand shops to Victoria's Secret, Bershka o Pull and Beard. What’s more, as you wander from shop to shop, you can admire the beautiful architecture and Málaga Cathedral.
Running parallel to Calle Larios is Calle Nueva, which is very similar to the former, although narrower; it also boasts a wide variety of shops of all kinds.
Second-hand shops
If you’re a fan of vintage and second-hand clothes, there are also several places to visit in Málaga.
If you like second-hand clothes, you should definitely head to Flamingo, here you’ll find some really cool clothes, all in perfect condition. It’s more focused on vintage style, so if you’re looking for a colourful old-school bomber jacket, you know exactly where to go. What’s more, the price is by weight – even better!
On the other hand, we find that Mosaic, my favourite. Here you’ll see all kinds of clothes, and all brands, from vintage pieces to ‘motomami’ jackets. The best thing is the price – on many days they sell all their clothes for 3, 2 and 1 euros. Imagine buying a pair of Balenciagas for 1 euro – it’s mad.
Scattered throughout the province, you can also find thousands of street markets. where you’ll find all sorts of products; you’ll discover things you didn’t even know existed. Fuengirola’s Saturday morning market is very popular in this regard.
