If you love shopping and are thinking of visiting Málaga, or if you live there, this post is for you. Málaga is one of the cities with the most shopping centres in Spain and is home to the world’s top brands.

Although it’s true that online shopping is very popular at the moment, true shopping enthusiasts know that it’s not the same as doing it in-store. Yes, it’s very convenient to order from Zara or Amazon whilst having a coffee on your sofa at home, but there’s nothing quite like being able to try the clothes on yourself, feel the products and check the measurements in person. On the internet, everything looks lovely and the clothes seem to suit everyone, but then come the regrets when we end up with those oversized Shein trousers. So let’s not lose our good habits – come with us for a day’s shopping in the province of Málaga.

The beauty of Málaga is that the shops are interspersed with its culinary delights and monuments. You can go shopping on Calle Larios, enjoy some Iberian coquetas de iberico with melon at the
Pez Wanda restaurant
the Thyssen Museum and then get back to the hunt for fashion.

If you’re thinking about going shopping in Málaga and don’t know where to go, you’ve come to the right place. Read on and join us for a tour of the best places to shop in the province.

Shopping centres in Málaga

In the capital city itself, there are already several shopping centres. As well as shopping, these centres offer a wide range of activities, such as cinemas, play areas, outdoor seating areas, restaurants, go-karting, etc. So a day’s shopping can also turn into a day out with the family or a get-together with friends.

If you’re looking for a place where you can not only shop, but also have a great time with your family and friends, the Miramar shopping centre in Fuengirola is the place for you. It boasts a wide range of shops, a cinema and, on the terrace, a playground with trampolines, go-karting and activities where children are sure to have a great time. The shops you’ll find here include Zara, Bershka, Pull and Beard, Stradivarius, Primark and Carrefour, amongst others…

On the other hand, if you’re looking for more exclusive shops, you should head to La Cañada Shopping in Marbella. This shopping centre is home to the best brands, such as GUESS, Apple, Massimo Dutti, MAC and Lacoste… Shopping at La Cañada is like shopping on Fifth Avenue, but with a »Marbella lady» twist.

If you’re in Málaga and don’t feel like going anywhere, don’t worry! We’ve got a solution for everything. Right here in the city, you’ve got the Larios shopping centre, Vialia and Muelle Uno. These three are very similar to the Miramar in Fuengirola – that is to say, the shops are very similar, but they don’t offer as many activities as the one in Fuengirola. Oh! By the way, if you decide to go to Muelle Uno, you simply must stop off at the
Cambara Restaurant
and try our delicious rice and paella dishes.

Shops in Málaga

Shopping centres can be stressful and aren’t for everyone, but that’s fine – you can also go shopping in the streets of Málaga, where you’ll discover local shops that you won’t find in a shopping centre.

The best place to go shopping outdoors is undoubtedly the famous Marques de Larios Street. This street is lined with all sorts of shops, from second-hand shops to Victoria's Secret, Bershka or Pull and Beard. Also, as you wander from shop to shop, you can admire the beautiful architecture and Málaga Cathedral.

Running parallel to Calle Larios is Calle Nueva, which is very similar to the former, although narrower, and also boasts a wide variety of shops of all kinds.

Second-hand shops

If you’re a fan of vintage and second-hand clothes, there are also several places to visit in Málaga.

There’s no doubt that if you like second-hand clothes, you simply must go to Flamingo, here you’ll find cool clothes in perfect condition. It specialises in vintage style, so if you’re looking for a colourful bomber jacket, you know where to go. And if the price is by weight, so much the better!

On the other hand, we find Mosaic, my favourite. Here you’ll see clothes of all kinds, and all brands, from vintage to »motomami» jackets. The best thing is the price – on many days they sell all the clothes for 3, 2 and 1 euros. Imagine buying a pair of Balenciaga trainers for 1 euro – it’s mad.

Scattered throughout the province, you can also find thousands of flea markets. where you’ll find all sorts of products, you’ll discover things you didn’t even know existed. The Saturday morning flea market in Fuengirola is very popular in this area.

Who doesn’t like shopping?
